Gators, Saints run at Cliffs of the Neuse

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek's boys defeated Southern Wayne, 22-34, in a non-conference meet at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park on Thursday afternoon.
The Saints won the girls' meet, 14-22.
On the boys' side, the Gators' Gage Abbott was the top male runner with a time of 19 minutes, 47 seconds. Teammate Allen Coor finished second in 20:02. The Saints' Wesley Smith and Anthony Womble were third and fourth, respectively, with times of 22:23 and 23:02.
Spring Creek's Levi Miller (24:14) crossed the finish line in fifth place.
The Gators' Ashley Marriner was the top female runner with a time of 29:50. Southern Wayne's Maddy Muston finished second with a time of 31:15. Teammates Sharone Maultsby (32:46), Shannon Casto (34:53) and Cloe Edwards (36:32) were third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
