Aycock girls storm past North Lenoir

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock scored 12 unanswered points to close the third quarter, and opened Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play with a 58-36 win over North Lenoir on Tuesday evening.
The Hawks pulled to within 32-26 midway through the third quarter, but found themselves down 44-26 heading into the final period.
Aycock's Myleah Jones led all scorers with 20 points to go with 11 rebounds. Taylor Daniels added 15 points and Ashley Darden contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
Quoya Porter scored 10 points for the Hawks.
C.B. Aycock (3-6 overall, 1-0 ECC) travels to Greene Central tonight. North Lenoir (1-7, 0-1) visits county archrival South Lenoir on Friday.
