Middle schools

* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 24, Epiphany 14 -- Kasey Norris and Georgia Parnell each scored six points for Wayne Christian, which improved to 2-0 overall this season.

* Girls' basketball: East Wake Academy 37, Wayne Country Day 7 -- Lillian Freeman paced the Chargers with five points. Wayne Country Day (0-1 overall) faces the Goldsboro Ice on Thursday at Free Gospel Church.

* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 38, Dillard 8 -- Norwayne began its basketball season with a 38-8 win over Dillard on Monday afternoon. Connor Vinson led the Cobras with 10 points. Tanika Powell added eight points in the win. Norwayne plays host to Greenwood on Thursday.

* Boys' basketball: East Wake Academy 52, Wayne Country Day 26 -- John Strickland finished with 13 points for the Chargers and Mitch Turnage had seven. Wayne Country Day (0-1 overall) faces the Goldsboro Heat on Thursday at Free Gospel Church.
