Spring Creek earns share of 5th straight Carolina 1-A soccer title

AYDEN -- Spring Creek needed overtime to get past Ayden-Grifton, 2-1, and earn a share of its fifth consecutive Carolina 1-A Conference championship Wednesday evening.
Brayan Lopez scored the game-tying goal for the Gators in the second half off an assist from Ivan Lemus. David Vega tallied the game-winner in the 87th minute with a 35-yard strike that sailed over the Chargers' keeper.
Spring Creek (11-1-3 overall, 6-0-0 CC) plays host to Princeton on Monday.
