White, Rocha pace Trojans in road loss

TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Carly White pounded out seven kills and Talita Rocha provided a match-high five blocks, but Mount Olive College dropped a 25-19, 25-13, 25-23 decision to Conference Carolinas foe North Greenville University on Monday evening.
Nicole Karas dished out 11 assists for the Trojans, who dipped to 8-12 overall and 4-7 in conference play this season. Nicole Sparks and Lauren Lee led the MOC defense with 14 and six digs, respectively.
The Trojans entertain Barton on Wednesday. First serve is 7 p.m. at Kornegay Arena.
Women's golf
SAINT LEO, Fla. -- Mount Olive College freshman Julie Loennechen fired a 4-over-par 76 tie for 10th place after Monday's first round of the Saint Leo Women's Golf Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
Leonnechen's efforts helped Mount Olive finish with a 331 through 18 holes, good enough for 10th out of 14 teams entering today's final round.
Loennechen sits five shots off the lead. Fellow freshman Virginia Lane sits in 33rd place after an 81 Monday.
Teammate Emelie Andersson (85) is 50th, followed by Stefany King (89) in 60th, and Emy Ohling (93) in 63rd.
