Benitez logs hat trick for Saints

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne earned a critical 5-2 decision over Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference rival North Lenoir on Monday night.
Cesar Benitez finished with three goals for the Saints. Victor Velazquez and Ulysses Ramirez each added one goal in the win.
Doerico Sutton and Oscar Avila each scored one goal in the defeat. Caleb Baird finished with six saves for the Hawks.
North Lenoir (6-10-2 overall, 4-6-1 ECC) plays host to Eastern Wayne on Wednesday night, while Southern Wayne (9-6-2 overall, 6-5-0 ECC) travels to Charles B. Aycock the same evening.
