Boys' basketball
Faith Christian 52,
Bethel Christian 41
* Faith Christian pulled away early and cruised to a 52-41 win over N.C. Christian Schools Association Coastal 2-A foe Bethel Christian on Monday night.
Brandon Jones and Silas Denlinger each finished with 14 points for the Conquerors. Wes Caudle added 11 points in the win.
Faith Christian (12-3 overall) plays host to Gateway (Va.) Christian on Friday night.
Coastal Christian 57, Wayne Christian 44
* Wayne Christian could not overcome hot-shooting Coastal Christian in a 57-44 defeat on Monday night.
Chase Darden led the way for the Eagles with 22 points. Seth Slusher added 12 points in the defeat and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Wayne Christian (4-17 overall) plays host to Grace of Sanford tonight.
Girls' basketball
Bethel Christian 38,
Faith Christian 20
* Bethel Christian relied on tough defense in a 38-20 win over Faith Christian on Monday night.
Abigail Pierce led the Conquerors with nine points. Meredith Clark pulled down a team-high seven rebounds to go with five points.
Faith Christian (3-10 overall) entertains Gateway (Va.) Christian on Friday night.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 32, Eastern Wayne 14 -- Norwayne dropped county rival Eastern Wayne 32-14 on Monday afternoon. Taylor Daniels led the Cobras with 12 points. Tanika Powell added 11 points in the win. Eastern Wayne was paced by Chelsea Lynn with seven points. Norwayne (11-2 overall) travels to Grantham on Wednesday.
