SNOW HILL -- Quadre Ayers returned to the mat and perennial dual-team wrestling powerhouse Rosewood dispatched Greene Central, 69-12, in the regular-season finale for both teams Wednesday evening.

The Eagles reeled off nine consecutive wins, starting with Angel Jaramillo's 39-second pin of the Rams' Deondra Sutton at 113 pounds. Chris Lane drew a forfeit at 120 and junior 126-pounder Nick Quillen pinned Brett Shackleford as time expired in the first period.

Samuel Drew scored a 12-5 decision over Abram Walker at 132 pounds. Jordan Batson received a forfeit in the 138-pound class, while teammate Evan Reiss (145) earned a second-period against Jamar Jones as time expired.

Ayers mimicked Reiss' performance at 152. Josh Drew and Carlos Mata each picked up a forfeit 160 and 170 pounds, respectively, to cap the insurmountable 51-0 lead. Taylor McGill (195), heavyweight Rayquan Jones and 106-pounder Jacob Holliday wrapped up the Eagles' road win.

The Rams prevailed in two upper weight classes -- Marquis Mumford at 182 and Rodney Johnson at 220.

Rosewood goes after its 18th consecutive conference tournament title Saturday at Goldsboro High School. The seven-team Carolina-Four Rivers-Tideland Athletic begins at 9 a.m. inside Norvell T. Lee Gymnasium.
