• Rosewood began defense of its Carolina 1-A Conference championship with a 4-0 loss to Ayden-Grifton on Friday evening.
Logan Waters doubled for the Eagles.
Reed Howell suffered the pitching loss. The freshman permitted two earned runs on three hits in a four-inning stint.
The Eagles (3-8 overall, 0-1 CC) entertain Goldsboro on Tuesday. First pitch is 5 p.m.
