CLARK PARRISH

Dec. 9, 1943-April 3, 2018

Clark Parrish, 74, Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Clark was born in Wayne County Dec. 9, 1943, to the late Jake and Mary Jordan Parrish.

In 1977, Clark founded Pikeville Auto Parts, and served the community for 40 years until his retirement, during which time he made many friends.

Clark loved to play softball, and played with church, city league and weekend ball with Eastern Insulation.

Being an outdoor person, he loved yard work and keeping his vehicles clean.

Clark was a member of Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, and served his country in the United States Army Reserve.

Although Clark leaves a vacant place in our hearts, we know he truly earned his special place in heaven.

Clark will always be remembered as a loyal man of faith, love and respect for his family and everyone who touched his life.

The best of Clark will live on in each of us.

A service to celebrate Clark's life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Cauley officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Pikeville Cemetery.

Clark is survived by his wife of 54 years, Faye Kirby Parrish; daughter, Kim Radford and husband, Mark, of Rocky Point; the love of his life, his grandchildren, Joshua Radford and Leslie Radford; sister, Eloise Edgerton and husband, John, of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clark was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Burnette and Ernestine Edgerton.

The family would like to thank Rex Oncology in Garner, Kitty Askins Hospice Center and 3HC for their compassionate care over the last several months.
