EDNA TAYLOR NICKENS

Edna Taylor Nickens, 91, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Edna was born in Greene County July 28, 1926, to the late Amos Henry Taylor and Helen Wells Taylor. She was married for 62 years to the late J.R. Nickens Jr.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
Edna was a valued employee of Sears in Goldsboro for many years.
One of the greatest loves in her life was First Christian Church, where she was a faithful servant.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Christian Church, followed by a service to celebrate Edna's life at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Debbie Lane and husband, David, Trish Saeger and husband, Chuck, and Cindy Babson; eight grandchildren, Allyson Floyd, Ryan Van Norman, Brooke Kelly, Melissa Saeger, Whitney Lane, Rachel Steffen, Roger Babson Jr. and Taylor Babson; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Virginia Perkins, and brother, Sonny Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Christian Church, 1609 Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
