Elizabeth Harris Best, 99, Wilson, passed away Thursday.
Her funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St., Goldsboro. The Rev. Liz Hounshell will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and Monday morning from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Salem United Methodist Church, Goldsboro.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Carroll Best Gaissert of Wilson and Louise B. Brown and husband, Doug, of Virginia; her son, Hilton Best and wife, Nancy, of Wilson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Strohm and husband, Steve, Cindy Webb and husband, Nathan, John Allen Brown and wife, Meredith, and John Best; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. "Pete" Best; son-in-law, Larry Gaissert; and her brother, James A. Harris.
