REBECCA H. HELMS

Rebecca Hill Helms, 91, a former longtime resident of Goldsboro, passed away on Feb. 27, 2018, in Richmond, Va.
Born June 19, 1926, she was the daughter of Luby L. Hill and Mildred Godwin Hill and the widow of Robert E. Helms. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Goldsboro chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, William Robert Gwatney.
Surviving are a son, Michael R. Gwatney (Loree); grandsons, Sean L. Dyke (Julie) and Michael R. Gwatney Jr. (Jeaneth); brother, William A. Hill; sister, Judith H. Dyke; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the Snow Hill Cemetery in Snow Hill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
