Marie C. Rees died in Raleigh, N.C., Feb. 17, 2018, at the age of 83.
She is survived by her brother, Richard; her children, Carol (Rod) McCray, Dan and Don; and four grandchildren.
She was born in Pennsylvania, and worked as a school teacher.
She and the late David Rees were married for 51 years.
They moved to North Carolina in 1981.
Marie was an accomplished soloist, and often performed madrigals in Renaissance re-enactments.
She was an active member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church Choir.
Her memorial service will be at Madison Avenue Baptist Church Feb. 24, 2018, at 11 a.m.
