Robert "Bob" John Furlin, age 81, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at The Brian Center of Goldsboro surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Southview, Pa., to the late Louis and Mary Senifro Furlin. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he established a career working with Channel Masters, Sylvania and Northern Telecom. After retiring, he published several books, including family cookbooks, spy novels and a couple of love stories. He loved working in his yard and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Bob was a Godly and praying man. He always walked by faith and trusted in the lord to supply his every need. He witnessed to anyone every chance he could. His wife, Ann "Cleo," passed away on Dec. 2, 2017.

He is survived by his sister, Deloris Kendzlic of Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Rachel Moxley; nieces, Mary Cunningham (Jim), and Sylvia Caudle (Dave); nephew, Julian McMillan (Carol); and a special niece and nephew, Cheryl and Jack Watson, who cared for him during his years of declining health after his stroke. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

The family held a private burial in October. Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. of Goldsboro served the family.
