David Albert Carter, 68, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at UNC Wayne Health Care surrounded by his family.
David was born in Wayne County on Dec. 3, 1948, to Virset Mooring Carter and the late Luther Carter. He was a building contractor.
A private service will be held.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his daughter, Connie Hargrove and husband, Dell of Dudley; son, David Ryan Carter of Pikeville; sisters, Carolyn White of Gastonia, Nancy Dawson and Frances Vernatt, both of Goldsboro and brother, Douglas Carter and wife, Brenda of Dudley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter Ryan Carter, Randall Hann IV and Christopher Hann and his great-granddaughter, Kelli Hann.
