Hollis Grayson Earley Jr., 73, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at his home in Hampstead, N.C.

He was born March 10, 1944, at Camp Lejeune, N.C., beloved son of Hollis and Ruth Singleton Earley.

He graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy, and graduated from East Carolina University in 1969.

He retired from Mallinckrodt Medical in 2001 as one of its top producing sales account specialists, earning numerous honors and awards during his 27-year career.

He resided in Goldsboro for more than 20 years, and was an avid golfer and past member of Walnut Creek Country Club.

He enjoyed fishing, East Carolina University football season, reading and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his kind and generous heart and as a loving father and grandfather.

The family will honor Hollis by celebrating his life Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at Walnut Creek Country Club from 2 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33607, in his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Grayson Earley Sr. and Ruth Singleton Earley both of Morganton.

He leaves behind a daughter, Dawn Earley Leonard and husband, Michael, of Raleigh; a son, Grayson Christopher Earley and wife, Amelia, of Raleigh; stepsons, Michael Dees and wife, Tina, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Stephen Dees and wife, Caroline, of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren, Caitlyn Earley of Raleigh, Charlie Dees and Alex Dees of Savannah and Caleb Greer of Vero Beach, Fla.; ex-spouse and mother of his children, Barbara Earley Allen of Raleigh; and Barbara Ann Hayes of Myrtle Beach, mother of his stepsons.
