Frances Lancaster Creech, 95, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at Sutton's Retirement Center where she had made her home for nearly five years. Frances was born Oct., 30, 1921, to the late Lee and Eula Pate Lancaster.

Frances was married to the late Earl Creech for 55 years. She was a dedicated farm wife who loved her family and community. Frances loved her God and her church. She was the oldest member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women unit. Her active service in the church and its missions when she was physically able evidence her desire to be a part of God's ministry on earth. She was a loving Christian lady.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Kathy Paige and husband, Ron of Salt Spring, Fla., her daughter-in-law, Sandra Creech Mendell and husband, Ron of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Chris Creech and wife, Teresa of LaGrange, Cindy Creech Weeks and husband, David of Goldsboro, Matt Paige and wife, Katy of Evanston, Ill. and Allison Gallagher and husband, Sean of Winter Park, Fla. Additionally, she is survived by her step-grandsons, Brian Mendell and wife, Susan of Greenville and Mark Mendell and wife, Angela of Elizabethtown. Her surviving great-grandchildren are Ken Weeks, Daniel Weeks, Luke Creech, Caera Gallagher, Charles Gallagher, Frances Jane Paige, Courtney Mendell, Casey Mendell, Caitlin Mendell, Lexie Mendell and Lorna Mendell. Other survivors are her sister, Wilma Sasser and her sister-in-law, Leatrice Creech as well as many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Creech and her siblings, Edna Mae Parks, Eva Ginn, Gertrude Creech and John Lee Lancaster.

A graveside service to remember Frances will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with her pastor, the Rev. Amanda Bunce, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at the home of Ron and Sandra Mendell, 3109 U.S. Hwy. 13 North, Goldsboro.

Frances' family extends a sincere thank you to the staff of Sutton's Retirement Center for the loving care they provided to her and to Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided to her during her illness.
