OSCAR L. MOORING

Oscar Lee Mooring, 78, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at his home.
Oscar was born in Lenoir County, N.C., June 19, 1939, to the late Hub and Martha Jackson Mooring.
He was a retired poultry specialist inspector for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.
Oscar was a member of Community Baptist Church.
He will be truly missed by his family.
A graveside service will be Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 4 p.m. in Mooring Family Cemetery, 4339 U.S. 13 North, Goldsboro, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Bobby Heath and the Rev. Michael Lewis.
Oscar is survived by his companion, Ms. Linda Rutherford; daughters, Deana Harper and husband, Thomas, of Goldsboro, Sherry Lindsey of Florida and Christina Tillman and husband, Michael, of Florida; sons, Kelvin Mooring and wife, Angie, of Goldsboro and Dee Jay Mooring and wife, Katelyn, of Pikeville; and stepsons, Jimmy Williford and wife, Nicole, of Pikeville and Michael Holmes and wife, Heather, of Pikeville.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Elljay Lindsey, Tommy Harper and Timmy Harper, Deja Mooring, Jay Schallert, Shae Schallert and Anzlee Mooring, and his very special extended families, the Rodell-Barrow family, the Donald Sutton family and Buck and Jackie Blizzard.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Mooring; grandson, Dean Bass; and brother, Milton Jackson.
He was also preceded in death by his adopted parents, Rodell and Emma Barrow, and children.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
