Douglas Keith Chestnutt, 65, died at his residence Wednesday.
Born in Magnolia, he was the son of the late Jack and Macy Blizzard Chestnutt.
A veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 11. He was also a member of Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Dail officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday.
Mr. Chestnutt is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. Chestnutt; daughter, Amy Suzanne Chestnutt of Warsaw; brother, James Chestnutt; sisters, Annette Gurley, Geraldine Henderson, Frances Gurley and Patsy Anderson; and one grandchild.
