Kayla Riley Dawn Evans, 13, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at her home.
Kayla was born in Wayne County May 1, 2004, to Sherryl Lynn Evans and Donald Ross Evans.
She was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life.
Kayla was a constant inspiration, and those who knew her, will always remember her joy in living, her laughter, her positive attitude and, of course, her caring and loving ways.
She was a typical teenager, who loved being on her phone and snap chatting, listening and singing her music and being with her friends. Kayla will truly be missed, but will never be forgotten.
A service to celebrate Kayla's life will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 6 p.m. in Patetown Church of God, with the Rev. Marvin Wiggins officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her half-sister, Ali Jade Weaver; grandparents, Glenn and Emima Cole, Deborah and Ronald Ewald and Susan Evans; and great-grandparents, Ross and Sara Head, Carol Evans and Glenn Cole Sr.
She is also survived by her special K-9 friend and (AKA) husband, Gizmoe; special aunt, Alicia Cole; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins she loved very much.
Kayla was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donald Evans; great-grandfather, William Evans; and great-grandmother, Judy Cole.
