Paul Clyde Sullivan, 87, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his family.

Paul was born in Johnston County Oct. 6, 1929, the youngest child of 10 children, to the late Pharoah and Betty Rains Sullivan.

He had retired from E.I. Dupont after 241/2 years of service.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He lived a life of dedication to his family and friends and to his community.

Paul was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative board, board of trustees and the evangelism board.

A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Madison Hankal officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Navy military honors.

The family will greet friends Saturday following the service at the church and other times at his home.

Paul is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Mignon Coley Sullivan; son, Paul Clyde Sullivan II of Goldsboro; daughters, Robbin Oliver and husband, Billy, and Gina Harr and husband, Jim, all of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jenna Coffey and husband Will, Corey Harr and fianceé, Kendall, Austin Harr and Brandon Oliver and wife, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Noah and Harper Coffey; and sister, Helen Hines of Chester, Va.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 N.C. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
