JOANN W. CLAYTON
April 26, 1935-May 10, 2017
Wednesday evening, May 10, 2017, Faye Joann Woodard Clayton, 82, Princeton, moved to her heavenly home.
Joann was a godly woman, who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Joann was born in Johnston County April 26, 1935, to the late Azil and Effie Siler Woodard She was married to the late Carlton Clayton.
Joann had worked early in life with Lori Manufacturing, and later retired from Barry Manufacturing.
Following retirement, Joann became a valued employee of Walmart.
While in retirement, she continued to enjoy sewing, gardening and tending to her plants in her sunroom.
Joann enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 15, 2017, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by service to celebrate Joann's life at 7 p.m. in the chapel, with pastor Phil Bowden officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
At other times, the family will be at 226 Clayton Road, Princeton.
Joann is survived by her daughters, Vickie Bailey and husband, Belmon, Debbie Mitchell and husband, Larry, and Teresa McGiveney and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Chris Bailey, Crystal Langdon, Kristy Trudeau, Nicole Draughon, Jamie Taylor, Clayton Taylor and Tyler Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, George Woodard; and sister, Myde Eason.
She is also survived by her special friend and companion, Fluffy.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
