Albert Clarence House Sr., 69, died Saturday at Durham VA Medical Center.
He was born in Wayne County, N.C., to the late Julius Glynwood House and Ethel Newsome Weatherford.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.
The family will be receiving immediately following the service at the grave.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Wendy House of Troy, Mo., and Albert II and April House of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Kenneth Mehus of Fayetteville, N.C., and Frances and Paul Sanderford of Moncure, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Mark House Jr., Brittani House, Kasey House, Alexander House and Jacob House.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Julius G. House, and a sister, Lucille Franco.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Albert Clarence House Sr. be made to Durham VA Medical Center, Attn: Voluntary Service, 508 Fulton St., Durham, N.C., 27705.
