LUTHER H. ANDERSON

Luther H. Anderson went home to be with our Lord and his beloved wife, Sallye, on May 4, 2017, after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s. He died at home with loved ones by his side.

Luther was born March 12, 1926, in Dudley, N.C. to the late Addie Mae and Russell R. Anderson. He was married to the late Sallye Tilton Anderson for 68 years. He is survived by four children, Eve Anderson Sicard of Farmville, Michael H. Anderson and wife, JoAnne of Fremont, Theresa Anderson Glisson and husband, George of Goldsboro, and Patricia Anderson of Durham; 10 grandchildren, Amy Sicard Swafford and husband, James, Jennifer Glisson Olson and husband, Greg, Jessica Anderson Wiggins, Melanie Sicard Webb and husband, Rob, Christopher “Andy” Sicard, Jason Glisson and wife, Kristin Davis, Melissa Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Barrett Panton, Shannon Creech Welsh and husband, Marc; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lynda Anderson Smith of South Carolina and a sister-in-law, Frances Huffman Anderson of Garner. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents and recently by his brother, R. E. “Gene” Anderson, a brother-in-law, Douglas Smith, and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Katherine Wiggins.

Luther was a 1943 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a Naval veteran of WWII, having served aboard the USS Atlas as an electrician. He was owner of AIM Electronics until his retirement. He was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church in Goldsboro.

The family would like to thank his caregivers for the love and care shown to our father and Sheree, Ashly and David from Community Home Hospice for their care, compassion and support.

There will be a graveside service today at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery on Hwy. 70 West in Princeton. Pastor Ronnie Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home of Theresa and George Glisson at 209 Little River Drive in Goldsboro.
