Mattie Pickett Edwards, 98, died Dec. 22, in Asheville, N.C.
She lived in Goldsboro, N.C. for many years and was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. In her later years she lived at the Villages of Brookwood in Burlington, N.C. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Edwards Jr .of Goldsboro, parents, Dr. John Alfred "Doc" Pickett and Martha Nicholson Pickett, brother, Howard Pickett, and sister, Margaret Snuggs of Burlington.
She is survived by daughter, Priscilla Edwards Hill and her husband, Louis Thompson (Thom) Hill Jr. of Asheville.
A private memorial service is being planned at a later date.
Interment at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
