Mr. Roger William House, 69, Snow Hill, died Jan. 11, 2017.
A native of Greene County, he was born July 16, 1947, the son of Larry House Sr. and Pauline Goff House.
Roger had retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections, and was an active member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church.
A good friend and neighbor, Roger was always there to help those who lived in his community and his church family.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brothers, Alton House, James "Doug" House and Wayne "Bill" House.
Surviving are his stepchildren to whom he loved as his own, Jennifer F. Brinkley and husband, Tony, of Winterville and John H. Fields and fiancee´, Misty Powers, of Hookerton; stepgrandchildren, Brad Brinkley, Jared Fields, Lauryn Fields and Courtney Powers; his siblings, Frances H. Carrico of Greenville and Larry "Jay" House Jr. and wife, Connie, of Farmville; a sister-in-law, Alice House of Rocky Mount; aunts, Kathleen Hinson of Fremont and Nell Holliday of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Al Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service.
