Christine Best Hardy Best was born April 22, 1935, in Wayne County to the late Viola Carraway and Sylvanus Best Sr. Christine departed this earthly life Jan. 5, 2017, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.
She was one of 14 children.
Christine received her education in the public schools of Lenoir County, where she graduated in May 1955.
Later in life, July 29, 1966, she became the lovely wife of the late Willie Earl Hardy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at McIntyre Funeral Home chapel, with pastor Thelma Davis officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Fairview Cemetery of LaGrange, N.C.
Christine leaves to cherish her precious memories two brothers, Sylvanus Best Jr. (Dollie) of Raleigh, N.C., and Richard (Janice) of Goldsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Lillie Mae Isler (John) and Shirley Mae Kittrell (LaFeyette) both of LaGrange, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Melba Best of LaGrange, N.C., Frances Smith of Ladysmith, Va., and Beulah Best of Boston, Mass.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
