Marjorie Wilson Joyner, 86, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in Wake Forest.

Marjorie was born in Wayne County on Sept. 20, 1930, to the late Ernest M. Wilson and Laura Howard Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Henry Joyner, on June 2, 2015.

Marjorie was the rock of her family, her husband and children knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

She was a member of Richland Creek Community Church

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with pastor Brian Merritt officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Regina Joyner Bowling and husband, Steven, of Creedmoor; son, Jeffery Scott Joyner and wife, Kim, of Winterville; and two grandchildren, Steven Bretten Bowling and Amanda Joyner Williams and husband, Amos; and great-grandson, Brody Scott Williams.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Richland Creek Community Church, 3229 Burlington Mills Road, Wake Forest, N.C., 27587, or the Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Morehead City, N.C., 28557.
