SUE L. JONES

Sept. 14, 1958 - Dec. 29, 2016

Sue Lee Jones, 58, of Goldsboro, left behind her mortal body in exchange for eternal life with her Heavenly Father early on Thursday morning. She was known as a giving person, and even in death, her giving continues as her donation of tissues will touch the lives of many people.

Sue was born in Wayne County, to the late Craven Earl Lee Jr. and Alice Darden Lee. She was currently serving as a victim witness assistant with the Wayne County District Attorney's office in Goldsboro and had previously worked with the Wayne County Register of Deeds for 20 years.

Sue was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church where she had served as the choir director, was a member of the Friendship Circle and the Berean Sunday School Class. Sue was involved in many other activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Sue loved her Lord and the happiness of her family was paramount to her. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Sue enjoyed her day trips to the beach with her family at the sound of Southport, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, followed by a service celebrating Sue's life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Linda Grider and the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating.

Interment will conclude the service at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. At other times, the family will receive family and friends at her home, 872 N.C. 581 North, Goldsboro.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Wayne Jones, of Goldsboro; daughter, Christy Musgrave and husband, Jason; son, Dennis Wayne Jones Jr. and wife, Ashelie; and grandchildren and the apples of her eye, Braxton John Musgrave, Sawyer Craven Musgrave, Lily Grace Jones and Ella Lee Jones. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Bass Britt and husband, L. Elmer Britt, of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome or the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534 or to SandHill Beagles Rescue, 2991 Stallings Road, Macclesfield, N.C., 27852.
