VIOLA T. EDWARDS

June 11, 1949-Dec. 19, 2016

Viola Tedder Edwards, 67, Goldsboro, was received into the loving arms of her Savior Monday morning while at her home.

She was born June 11, 1949, in Alamance County to the late Robert Avery Tedder and Mary Frances Jones Tedder.

She was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

For 49 years, she had worked alongside her husband and later, her son, in the family business, Edwards Truck Service.

Viola was the number one companion to her husband, Wayne. They married early in their lives, and "grew up" together sharing 53 wonderful years.

A member of the Wayne County Shrinettes, Viola and Wayne were a fixture at the Wayne County Shrine Club, making many trips together visiting children at the Shriners Hospital or attending various Shrine ceremonies.

She loved to travel, and when not accompanying her husband, she was a faithful traveling buddy to her daughter, Lynn.

An excellent cook, she cherished the chance for family to gather around her table.

Viola was the sweetest lady, always putting others first. Above all else, she loved her family, her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.

A service to celebrate the life of Viola will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, 498 Falling Creek Baptist Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530. The Rev. Kenneth Benton and the Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Viola is survived by her husband, Wayne Edwards; daughter, Lynn Herring; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tracy Edwards; grandsons, Brandon Herring, Josh Edwards and Justin Edwards; and her special canine companion, Charlie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, N.C., 28560.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
