CARL B. HILL

Carl Benjamin Hill, 66, of LaGrange, N.C., surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a bravely fought battle with cancer Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.
Carl was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Goldsboro to Simon B. and Elaine L. Hill of LaGrange.
He was co-owner and operator of Hill's Beef and Pork Center of Goldsboro, the former "Open Air Market."
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kay, of 45 years; son, Simon Carl Hill and wife, Hope; daughter, Carla Hill Hudson and husband, Eli; grandchildren, Morgan Hill, Kaytlyn Hudson, Reagan Hill and Cash Hill; step-grandchildren, Turner Lewis and Allison Hudson; brothers, Simon Rudy Hill and wife, Donna; Gary Milton Hill Sr.; sister, Sarah Bonnie Hill; and many special in-laws, nieces and nephews, that were near and dear to his heart. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Simon B. Hill and mother, Elaine Lucas Hill.
Carl was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and entertainer to his grandchildren. He was not only dedicated to his family but his church family as well. He was also very passionate about his work at Hill's Beef and Pork Center and enjoyed meeting people whom he quickly would consider friends and cherished those relationships.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Free Chapel Church on Patetown Road.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kitty Askins in Goldsboro.
The family would like to express at this time many thanks and love to Dr. Kasbari and his staff at SMOC. A special thank you to Community Home Care and Hospice for sending a comforting angelic nurse, Sheree Justus. We also know that many of you have lifted up many prayers and made many visits, and for that we lovingly thank you and pray God's blessings upon you.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
