Leslie Marie "Sugar Rie" Nicholson, 44, Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at her residence.
Leslie was born in Goldsboro, N.C., Jan. 29, 1972, to Leslie Hines Jr. and the late Sarah Jane Hines.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School, and was currently enrolled at Wayne Community College pursuing a degree.
Leslie was employed as a cook at Waffle House, upon her earthly departure. She had worked for Waffle House for many years.
Cooking was one of her favorite things to do, besides caring for her dog, Treasure.
She loved helping people.
Sugar Rie's carefree spirit, laughter, cooking and her beautiful singing will be greatly missed.
Leslie leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her father; sisters and brothers; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, co-workers and special friends; and her dog.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Jane Hines, and her sister, Shirley Jenkins.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at 1 p.m. at The Word Warehouse at 1303 N. Florida St., Goldsboro N.C., with pastor Thelma Davis officiating.
