Inez Southerland, 91, 306 E. Maple St., Mount Olive, transitioned Sunday at Wayne UNC Health Care of Goldsboro.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James Beamon and Daisy Southerland.
Homegoing celebration service will be held Saturday at noon at Northeast Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, with Gen. Bishop Alton Smith presiding and elder Clifford Southerland as eulogist. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her love and legacy to her children, Ella Faison (Lemuel) of McCleansville, elder Clifford Southerland (Margaret) of Dudley, Lynneil Southerland of Greensboro and Lynwood Southerland (Yvonne) of Orangeburg, S.C.; 11 children; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Raiford King; daughter-in-law, Mary Joyce Southerland; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, and the family will be present at this time to greet friends.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
