BERNICE C. WILLIAMS

Bernice Clayton Williams, retired farmer of the Faison area and World War II veteran of the United States Navy, passed away at home early Tuesday morning, Oct. 11, 2016. He was 93 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Flowers Hobbs Williams of the home; three stepchildren and their spouses, Frances and Ralph Coley of Pine Level and Delmas and Ann Hobbs and Samuel and Annelle Hobbs all of Faison; 12 grandchildren and their families; and several nieces and nephews.
Family members who preceded him in death include his first wife, Ethel Albritton Williams; three stepchildren, Hampton Hobbs, Thomas Hobbs and Faye Hobbs Darden; his parents, William Ivey Williams and Pearl Victoria Hollowell Williams; a sister, Helen W. Flowers; eight brothers, Troy, Elton, Lothy, Merle, Roland, Earl, Foster and Cecil Williams; and several grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in Calypso Cemetery at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.
Friends and family will be received at the residence.
