NAOMI T. BILLINGSLEY

July 27, 1932-Sept. 9, 2016

Early Friday morning, Sept. 9, 2016, Naomi Taylor Billingsley, Walnut Creek, Goldsboro, moved to her heavenly home while surrounded by her family.

Naomi loved her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandson that will lead them all their lives.

Naomi was born in Lenoir County July 27, 1932, to the late Joe Ivey Taylor and Srynear Pittman Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Allen Billingsley, who passed away Sept. 30, 2014.

After attending beauty school, Naomi began a career in cosmetology that lasted for more than 60 years. Most of those years were spent at Naomi's Total Image, where she served the community of Goldsboro with distinction.

Naomi had served as the past president of the North Carolina Cosmetology Association, and on the design committee of the National Cosmetology Association.

Her clients were blessed by the love of a truly honorable and compassionate friend, and were encouraged to look and be their best.

Naomi loved Hood Swamp Friends Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life.

She was the rock of her family; her husband and children knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

A service celebrating Naomi's life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. George C. Lee officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at her home.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Naomi is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Parks-Willaford and husband, J.B., of Goldsboro and Carla Parks-Griffin and husband, James, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Stephan Echols and wife, Kari, and Amy Echols; and great-grandson, Zach Echols.

She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Deborah Ward and husband, Bill, and Sharon Baragona and husband, Charles, and her extended family, employees and friends at Naomi's Total Image whom she loved very much.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Taylor, Curtis Taylor and Garland Taylor.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Gwen, Wanda, Nikki and Freda, who provided special care, allowing Naomi to spend her final months at home. These ladies were not only caregivers, but also her special friends.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Naomi's memory, Hood Swamp Friends Church, c/o Dan Smith, 250 Hood Swamp Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
