JEFF PEELE

June 26, 1966-Sept. 3, 2017

Robert Jeffrey "Jeff" Peele, 50, Pikeville, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at his home.

Jeff was born in Wayne County June 26, 1966, to Buck and Geraldine Carter Peele of Pikeville.

He was employed by Edwards Truck Service in Goldsboro, where he served as the head machinist.

Jeff loved Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful member.

Jeff was an unusually fine man. He was adored by his wife, for whom he was a source of joy and strength, but also by countless others, from old friends to new acquaintances, all of whom were struck by his quiet generosity, his kind and unassuming intelligence and his innate courteousness.

A service celebrating Jeff's life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dock Hobbs and the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the church and other times at his home.

Interment will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his parents, Buck and Geraldine, Jeff is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen Pate Peele; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Eddie Lewis of Pikeville; special nephew, Brandon Windham of Pikeville; great-nephew, Jayden Windham; mother-in-law, Betty Kearney of Patetown; brothers-in-law, Steve Kearney, Bryan Kearney and Kenan Kearney and their families; and special friends, Junior and Jackie Pender.

He is also survived by his special fur babies, Buster, Phoebe and DeeDee.
