Barbara Evelyn "Bobbie" Pearce Howell, 74, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her family.

Bobbie was born in Newport News, Va., Aug. 21, 1942, to the late Leland Arthur Pearce and Martha Braswell Pearce.

She began her career working with Sylvania, and retired from Bussmann in Goldsboro.

Bobbie was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Bobbie was the rock of her family; her husband and son knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

A service celebrating Bobbie's life will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Linda Grider and the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 861 Ebenezer Church Road, Goldsboro.

Interment will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Princeton Cemetery.

Bobbie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Howell; son, Eddie Howell and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Justin Edward Howell and Chelsey Shipp and husband, Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kyler and Emma; stepgrandchildren, Tiffany Miller and husband, Jason, and Travis Taylor and wife, Megan; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Rylee, Walker and Ally May.

She is also survived by her sister, Sue Snipes and husband, Joe, of Kenly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Lovwickson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3859 U.S. 70, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
