JEFFREY A. STALLINGS

Dec. 24, 1960-Sept. 2, 2016

Mr. Jeffrey Alan Stallings, 55, Pikeville, died Friday morning, Sept. 2, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer and its complications for more than nine years.

The last years of Jeff's life reflected the words of II Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

A native of Wayne County, Jeff was born Christmas Eve in 1960.

He was an active member of Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, and had retired early from Firestone in Wilson due to his health.

An avid sports fan, Jeff was a fiercely loyal University of North Carolina fan, as well as an avid fan of the Mets and Washington Red Skins.

His surviving family includes his wife, Tammy Head Stallings; son, David Alan Stallings; parents, Nathan and Joyce Lancaster Stallings; a sister, Myra Stallings Johnson; a brother, William Stallings and wife, Shirley, all of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill, with pastor Don Sauls and pastor Danny Hamm officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Faro Chapel Church, c/o Lori Lancaster, 3401 Big Daddy's Road, Fremont, N.C., 27830.
