Mother Dorothy Jean Williams Oates Wooten, 78, 1405 Poplar St., Apt 44, passed from labor to reward Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sunday, March 6, 1938, in Johnston County to Albert Williams Sr. and Nettie Flowers Williams.
The homegoing celebration will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at New Stoney Hill United Holy Church, with Dr. H.E. McNair officiating. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in Sneed Cemetery in Bentonville.
Precious memories are treasured by children, Leander Oates Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Albert Oates of Richmond, Va., Gregory (Audrey) Oates of Columbia, S.C., Charles Oates, pastor Derrick (Nikita) Oates of Goldsboro and Pathia Oates of Charlotte; one brother, Bishop Charles Williams of Goldsboro; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence.
The family will assemble at 2586 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, in preparation for the funeral procession.
