Feb. 22, 1922-June 21, 2016

Marjorie Evelyn Pelletier Hines, 94, LaGrange, peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born in Lenoir County Feb. 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Alvin and Sue Bell Rouse Pelletier. She was married to the late Thelbert Joe Daniel Hines Sr.

Marjorie was a member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church since 1938. She loved her Lord and her church, and over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher and kept the attendance records. She was a member of the Adult Sunday school class and Vina Wilson Circle.

Marjorie was also a former member of Goldsboro Civitans, Golden Agers and Woodmen of the World.

A homemaker and farmer's wife, she raised five children, who were the light of her life.

Marjorie was a trustworthy lady, and remained mentally sharp throughout her life. She loved to be active and couldn't sit still ... she didn't want to miss anything. You would often see her out visiting, at an auction or playing bingo.

She loved entering items in contests at the county fair, participating in the Wayne County Senior Olympics and attending sporting events. She was "The Number One Duke Fan."
