Willie Chester Fields Jr., 66, died Monday at the VA Medical Center in Durham.
Graveside service with full military honors will be Friday at noon at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
He was married to Pauline Champion-Fields.
He is survived by two children and two stepchildren.
Visitation will follow the service.
Arrangements are by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory.
