Bonita Thompson Wallace, 59, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by her family.

Bonita was born in El Paso, Texas, on March 17, 1957, to Elva Williford Baker of Goldsboro and Raymond Thompson. She had retired from civil service with the Department of the United States Army after 25 years of service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service celebrating Bonita's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Kevin Wallace of Deltona, Fla.; sisters, Brenda Thompson Metz and Angelic Parton Sorrell; brother, Keith Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husband, Ronnie Wallace.
