Mervis Hoover Rowe, 84, Airport Road, Pikeville, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Church, 893 Lanetown Road in Faro, where he was a member. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by five sons, Billy Rowe, Gary Rowe and wife, Connie, Jerome Rowe and wife, Samantha, Ricky Rowe and wife, Janine, and Elvis Rowe; two daughters, Joyce Simms and Elaine Allen; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Rosetta Rowe; his wife, Margaret Braswell Rowe; two sons, John Thomas Rowe and Steven Rowe; four brothers; and two sisters.
Viewing will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and other times at 100 Torhunta Drive in Goldsboro.
