Evelyn Lamm Barwick, 83, passed away early Sunday morning, March 20, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Evelyn was born in Duplin County on March 2, 1933 and was raised in Wayne County by her parents, Frank and Sula B. Lamm. She had worked with Hampton Industries in Kinston for many years and later worked as a sitter for the elderly. Evelyn was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life. She was deeply devoted to her family and was happiest when she was spending time with the "light of her life," her granddaughter Tamara.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, from 1-2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service celebrating Evelyn's life at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Interment will conclude the service at Wayne Memorial Park.

Evelyn is survived by her granddaughter, Tamara Baltazar; and sister, Ruth Outlaw of Dudley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sula Jeanine Baltazar; brother, Wilbert Lamm, and sister, Lorena Garvey.
