GLENN A. BAGLEY

April 10, 1934-Feb. 28, 2016

Glenn Alden Bagley, 81, Goldsboro, was called home Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ his Lord.

Glenn was born in Kenly, N.C., April 10, 1934, to the late Worth and Irene Peele Bagley.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Glenn was retired from the Eaton Corp.

Many would consider Glenn to be a master mechanic for his love of fixing things. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Glenn was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the Goldsboro Kiwanis Club, and was known as "the keeper of the train" located at Herman Park.

Glenn was an unusually humble man. He was adored by his family, for whom he was a source of joy and strength, and also by countless others, from old friends to new acquaintances, all of whom were struck by his quiet generosity, his kind and unassuming intelligence and his innate courteousness.

He cherished his wife, and was a role model to his children.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall at New Hope United Methodist Church, followed by the service celebrating Glenn's life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Steve Wellman officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Church Cemetery in Kenly.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Mary Lucille "Tink" Barbee Bagley; daughters, Jenny Bagley Irvin of Brevard and Denise Bagley Cooper of Goldsboro; sister, Frances Bagley Kemple of Smithfield; grandchildren, Jessalyn and Samuel Irvin and Kala Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his daughter of the heart, Kathy Moore of Raleigh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Worth Bagley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Glenn to WAGES, 601 Royall Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or New Hope United Methodist Church, 200 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
