SIMON ZEPHANIAH 'UNCLE BOB' JACKSON

Mr. Simon Zephaniah "Uncle Bob" Jackson, 95, Parkstown, passed Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro, N.C.

The celebration of his life will be held Friday, March 4, 2016, at noon at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road in Goldsboro, N.C. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road in Goldsboro, N.C.

There will be a visitation held Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 3 to 5 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, and from 7 to 8 p.m. at Mount Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1289 Parkstown Road in LaGrange, N.C.

He was born in Wayne County, N.C., Nov. 8, 1920, to James Jackson and Lula Joyner Jackson.

He is survived by three daughters, Donnell Jackson Powell of Goldsboro, N.C., Rosemary Jackson Watson of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Lula Jackson Craig (Frederick) of Landover, Md.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
