DORIS COLLIE WEST

Doris Collie West, 84, Goldsboro, was called home Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord.
Doris was born in Wake County Dec. 11, 1931, to the late Samuel S. Collie and Ruby Hester Collie. She was married to the late Carlton Edward West.
Doris enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of so many elderly as she worked as a sitter.
She loved Victory Free Will Baptist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life.
Doris had a large extended circle of family and friends, and they were all very special to her. She will be missed, but greatly remembered.
A service celebrating Doris’ life will be held Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred Crank officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Doris is survived by her children, Mike West and wife, Sandy, Kathy West and Carlton Edward “Chip” West Jr. and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Michael Herring, Jenifer Webb, Michael West, Mary Elizabeth West and Hannah West; and great-grandchildren, Presley Herring and Hunter Webb.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Collie and George Collie.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Victory Free Will Baptist Church, 1806 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
