EVELYN M. ANDERSON

Evelyn Marie Sutton Anderson, 86, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Lottie King Sutton and mother of the late Connie A. Best, and was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Larry and Kevin.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Anderson’s life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willard A. Anderson; sons, Wayne Anderson, Steven (Jeannie) Anderson, Mark (Debbie) Anderson and Clark Anderson; daughters, Willa (Joe) Austin, Daryl (David) Cartledge and Vickie (Tom) Pigford; a son-in-law, Sherman Best; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
