Henry Bryant Combs Jr., 66, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Feb. 16, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at William Thigpen Cemetery in Pikeville.

Mr. Combs was born in Wayne County Oct. 23, 1949, to the late Henry Bryant Combs Sr. and Ava Howell Combs-Whitfield.

He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, and was a diehard fan of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

He served 34 years of service as a pharmacist with Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Pabilan Combs; two sons, Donald Ben Combs and wife, Tricia Ferrell, of Goldsboro and Henry Bryant Combs III of Goldsboro; three daughters, Justina Pearl Maria Combs of Goldsboro, Vivian Lynn Combs-Ferrell of Goldsboro and Carolyn Ava Tauber and husband, James, of Pikeville; one brother, Nathan D. Combs of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Jesslyn Ferrell, Alyssa Worley, Adam Combs, Ava Combs, Alivia Combs, Kayla Tauber and Christian Tauber; and one niece, Emma Jolly and husband, Matt, and their daughter Marianne.

In addition, he is survived by special friends, Karim Sahad and family, Lynn Bryant and family, and Joy Newton and family.

Professional services have been entrusted to Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
